Roberto Lang is currently the Director of the Noninvasive Cardiac Imaging Laboratories at the University of Chicago. He is a Professor of Medicine and Radiology at the same institution. He has published more than 700 manuscripts on cardiac imaging and physiology, written more than100 book chapters and edited 12 books during his career.  Dr Lang has been a pioneer in the development of three dimensional transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, a non-invasive technique that is currently used world wide to diagnose heart disease. He serves/d as a manuscript review consultant and served on the Editorial Boards for most cardiology peer-reviewed journals.  Lang’s major research interests are the clinical utility of noninvasive techniques in assessing left ventricular contractile state/myocardial perfusion and Three Dimensional echocardiography. He was the president of the American Society of Echocardiography and has delivered the Edler Lecture in the Scientific Sessions of the American Society of Echocardiography and the Honorary Euro-Lecture at the European Society of Cardiovascular imaging.
